The PA TRIO Conference Committee invites you to submit a workshop proposal for presenting your ideas and sharing your knowledge at the state conference that will be held from October 11- 14, 2016 at the Atherton Hotel in State College, PA.
The theme for the 2016 conference is:
Journey Together: Our #TRIO Stories
We would like to encourage those considering a workshop to think about the following in developing a proposal: generalized topics related to the conference theme in addition to “hot topics” that would be relevant for TRIO professionals like cultural competence, best practices, working with foster care youth, homelessness, veterans, or financial literacy.
Concurrent Sessions will be 75 minutes in length and the audience is up to 30 individuals. The sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, October 12, 2016 and Thursday,
October 13, 2016. Presenters will need to provide their own equipment and materials (LCD projectors, laptops, copies of handouts, etc).
The Proposal Committee will review all proposals received. Submission of a proposal does not guarantee selection. When developing your proposal, please consider the following criteria: originality, clarity, interest and relevance to the theme and to the larger TRIO climate. Those submitting proposals will be notified of selection by September 9, 2016.
If you provide handouts or a PowerPoint, we would like to request an electronic copy so we can make it available on the member section of the PA TRIO website after the conference.
