2019 PA TRIO SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION

The scholarship committee is pleased to announce the start of the 2019 scholarship competition to recognize our outstanding students. We hope your program will take time to nominate students for this honor as one of the many benefits of your program’s PA TRIO membership. A brief overview of the competition is as follows:

 

  • Scholarship Categories:

    • High School Competition (TRIO Talent Search, TRIO Upward Bound and TRIO Upward Bound Math/Science) Five scholarships valued at $750 per recipient

    • Pre-College Competition (TRIO Educational Opportunity Centers and TRIO Veterans Upward Bound) One scholarship valued at $750 per recipient

    • College Competition (TRIO Student Support Services and TRIO Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Programs) Five scholarships valued at $750 per recipient

  • An additional scholarship valued at $750 will be awarded in the category with the most nominations

  • The recipient earning the highest first place average will receive an additional $250 added to their scholarship. 

 

  • Nominations: Limited to two per program (2019/2020), and PA TRIO full program or full individual membership dues must be paid by the competition deadline.  Confirm membership status with Anne Heinzeroth, Membership Chair at AHeinzeroth@francis.edu )

 

  • Blind Review Process:  All identifying nominee/program information is removed from application packets prior to committee member review

 

  • Electronic Application Deadline:  Electronic submission of all Word documents due to Loriann Irving, Committee Chair, at irving@kutztown.edu by 11:59 pm on Monday, April 22, 2019. Paper or faxed documents will not be accepted.
